Integrative SandtrayTherapy
What does Sand tray mean to me?

I first experienced sand tray in personal therapy and immediately realised the power of the experience, for it was in this process much was communicated and yet much left unsaid, words were not necessary.
The sand and symbols spoke a truth.
At the time of this first powerful connection to sand the foretelling depicted was unknown. It is only with hindsight, as is often the case, that the true meaning of this first experience of sand tray was realised.
This tray became a catalyst for change and allowed what needed to be shed to drop away and a new reality born.
A moment of transformation.

I knew from my initial training as a play therapist that sand tray therapy had a magnetism which, once connected was hard to repel.
It has been a real pleasure to explore the power of sand tray and to complete training with the AIST and gain a Diploma in Integrative Sand tray Therapy.
I am privileged to be able to offer sand tray therapy in my own therapy room and when working with children and young people in schools and other settings.

Sand tray is not just for children it can be used by adults as a way to explore aspects of self in a safe and contained way.
The work is based on the work of Jung and yet connects to current research on neuroscience.
