About me

Hello and welcome,

 

I am Liz, a fully Accredited Qualified play therapist, relational creative arts therapist for children and young people, a qualified Sand Tray therapist . I am also in training for a diploma in Neuro Dramatic Play.

I use a DDP approach and am a therapeutic life story work practitioner.

​​

With a B.Ed (Hons) in Science, I was a primary school teacher for thirty years. Teaching across the primary age range in a number of Devon schools, I have a wide breadth of experience in meeting the needs of children and young people. Parents often commented on my warmth and how their child's emotional needs were at the heart of my teaching style.

​

I achieved my Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy in September 2020 with APAC. I am currentIy training in counselling and creative therapies for young people with CPCAB.

 

I currently work in schools and special settings in south Devon. In addition, I work for Adopt Southwest, a local charity supporting children of vulnerable families and I undertake private work with children and families.

I am a qualified supervisor of creative arts therapies and offering  clinical supervision for trainee and qualified therapists, teachers and school support staff.

​

I am available for private work in a therapeutic space within driving distance of Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot , Totnes and Exeter.

​

I am and accredited with PTUK  and am on the register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists that has been accredited with the Professional Standards Authority.  I am registered with the ICO and have a valid DBS and therapeutic practitioner insurance.

​

I am working towards becoming a registered member of BACP
